I too have the long MGOC brass ones. last time I put the manifold on I stripped two of them but they have been on and off a few times whilst designing supercharger. But it's a lesson learned - in future i would only reuse maybe a couple of times. When one went there was one heck of a ping that I tho...

You need to use TQF. I buy Castrol. Unfortunately on the pricey side compared to cheaper ATF fluids (available MGOC, Opie oils and I guess others) but the information I have read, from several sources says that the standard type of ATF fluids nowadays can/will(?) degrade internal seals. I am trying to visualise what you mean by this please? are you saying bright, but the beam does not project as far ahead? or something else?

One thing i have not done is check my rocker alignment and I should do as I have skimmed, decked, renewed rockers (stock), added a cometic for s/c and changed cam. with a skim of that size, any issues with valve/piston clearances? i am guessing you have to be careful with rockers & cam. what squish are you running?

I have found that the hi perf Osram and Phillips bulbs give good light, but the bulb lifetime suffers - a lot.

seem to be replacing one every year. and i never drive at night. always MOT time....
