Steve,
I hope you get a good resolution. Keep us updated - we might all learn something.
Did you buy from a dealer? If so you have some leverage if it was mis-sold.

Re: Re-shell and DVLA
Steve, I'm afraid this sounds like bad news. I would like to hear what others think, but it seems to me that you may have a car constructed from parts of unknown provenance. Worst case scenario is a stolen car, or possibly a written off car. Before spending any more money on it I think you need to c...

Re: Soundproofing done wrong
Remy, thanks for clarifying that. I can't really offer any advice as I'm not sure of what the materials are made from.
I think I would ask MGOC, and follow what they advise?

Remy, I'm not sure what kind of material that is? There are specific kits to use under the bonnet and that's what I would recommend.

Re: Battery cut off switch
Dave, my cutoff switch on my BGT is on the bulkhead just behind the passenger seat. Easy to reach from the driving seat. It interrupts the negative earth cable so is very easy to fit.

Re: New member
Remy, I would guess that if you look under the dash or under the rear floor, or elsewhere in a hidden spot you may find the original colour. If the car has been rebodied with a new shell then obviously that will not be possible. You can pick up clues about whether the body is original by looking at ...

Re: New member
It's a very strong colour, and very similar (as far as I can tell) to BL Blaze.
Do you know what the original colour was? I suspect it may have been Blaze - a very popular colour for the BGT at that time.

Re: New member
Remy, that's quite unusual! I believe this is a fairly recent Land Rover colour? Have you or a previous owner had the MG painted in this colour?
