I have found that the hi perf Osram and Phillips bulbs give good light, but the bulb lifetime suffers - a lot.
seem to be replacing one every year. and i never drive at night. always MOT time....

you WILL need to change front engine plate as chrome engine mounts will not interchange and plates are quite different. you will need plate and the two brackets that hold the mounts.

It could do with a repaint. it has single valve springs. i will check the valves for leaks but have no reason to suspect they are leaking. no signs of such. if it is stripped, tap it to M8 - metric, or if if it's too far gone could go to 3/8 or 10mm.
