I am trying to visualise what you mean by this please? are you saying bright, but the beam does not project as far ahead? or something else?

with a skim of that size, any issues with valve/piston clearances? i am guessing you have to be careful with rockers & cam. what squish are you running?

I have found that the hi perf Osram and Phillips bulbs give good light, but the bulb lifetime suffers - a lot.

seem to be replacing one every year. and i never drive at night. always MOT time....

you WILL need to change front engine plate as chrome engine mounts will not interchange and plates are quite different. you will need plate and the two brackets that hold the mounts.

It could do with a repaint. it has single valve springs. i will check the valves for leaks but have no reason to suspect they are leaking. no signs of such.
