Re: Aerial on wing

Good to see that the measurement details given in the Radiomobile instructions for siting the aerial for a roadster agreed with the ones i came up with!

Re: Aerial on wing

My Roadster has rhe original aerial still in place as fitted by the factory on the driver's side. (Never had a problem with electrical interference ). I am aware that the top of the wing seamwise & the widow frame of the gt are different to the roadster. That said, the centre point of my aerial ...

Re: Inlet manifolds

I've never had to change / replace either of my inlet or exhaust manifolds. However a quick look at Moss's catalogue implies there was only one type of inlet manifold (CHM171) shown as NCA , but two exhaust manifolds -1962 - 70 (12H709R) & 1970 - 80 (12H3911R) . I don't know if this explains the...

Re: mgb parts

You could always try Welsh MG who break cars & can supply bits from old looms. (They supplied me with the plug that joins the loom to the brake fluid warning switch below the dual master cylinder of the late RB cars - mine had corroded & they aren't available new as a separate item). Cheers,...

Re: Thermal switch (URP1126) not playing properly

Phil, My fan has always cut in when the Temp gauge is close to the red.(The readings on these gauges does seem to vary from car to car). These cars, including the ones with original single electric fans, have operated all over the world perfectly satisfactorily without any modification other than dif...

Re: Thermal switch (URP1126) not playing properly

Phil, If the car didn't come with the A5 sized handbook , it is worth getting hold of one. It covers all the main routine service areas of the car. The later ones (covering the last couple of years) are harder to come by as i think only the ones previously are available as faithful copies. The MGB R...

Re: Thermal switch (URP1126) not playing properly

Yes you are correct Vic, If the later one to URP1126 means a KTP9003 type then Phil, will also need a stepped sealing ring KTP9005 & Clip KTP9006. Incidental note re possible further air pockets - ensure the heater control valve is open when filling the block via the thermostat hole with coolant...

Re: Thermal switch (URP1126) not playing properly

Phil, I note that you have a 1979 MGB. There was a change in the otter switch for the fan from URP1126 to KTP9003 sometime during the 1979 model year (from GHN/D5 511291). I don't know if this would have any implications for you as to when the respective ones were designed to cut in. Certainly the w...
