Re: MOT Exemption.

As the MOT No Results Returned is on a green background it's ok. If the.vehicle required an MOT but didn't have one, it's always a red background, even if the vehicle is on SORN..

Re: MOT Exemption.

The clerk is wrong. The relevant date is the date of manufacture and a full Heritage certificate is acceptable. However, does the car DVLA records show the date of manufacture? When I updated my BGT, which was registered in February 1978, but manufactured in October 77, I sent a Heritage certificate...

Re: Thermal switch (URP1126) not playing properly

The otter switch on my 77;BGT is pushed into the radiator and I believe the later ones had a clip to hold them in, hence the different part number.

Re: Thermal switch (URP1126) not playing properly

Evening Charles
I checked my BL manual wiring diagram and there is the voltage stabilizer with a green wire and a light green wire.
Obviously I missed it, thanks. I thought it odd there wasn't one.

Re: Thermal switch (URP1126) not playing properly

I've had a look at the wiring diagram. The radiator fan is fused to the in line fuse that has a brown and white wire going in from the rear and a green wire coming out to the front of the carhis wire goes to the otter switch and the black and green wire to the fan itself. As the new switch doesn't w...

Re: Thermal switch (URP1126) not playing properly

The switch on my 1977 BGT is still working. Before you get a new switch, , check the contacts in the old switch. Spray an electrical switch cleaner in them then try it. The switch is called an otter switch. You could find another sensor that fits in the top hose but I've not heard of the original sw...

Re: Running on suddenly.

The optimum position for the vacuum take off is on the carburettor body on the sir filter side of the throttle disc. The rubber bumper cars having it on the inlet manifold was something to do with the then ECE15 emissions regulations. When I bought my 1977 BGT in 1979 it had an ECE15 sticker on the ...

Re: Running on suddenly.

The rubber bumper B's where the vacuum take off is on the inlet manifold have a distributor peculiar to that set up only. If you've fitted any other distribution except the correct one then there lies your problems. The vacuum and centrifugal advance will be totally wrong and that is what is likely ...

Re: Insurance

I insured my 1975 Series 3 Land Rover with them for the first time. last October. The policy is with Hiscox and is the same format as the MG one .
The premium for the Land Rover is £97 and a few pence for 3,000 miles and agreed valuation of £6,000, and free breakdown cover.
