Harrington stainless steel bumpers

Has anyone used Harrington stainless steel bumpers? How were they for fit? Comparing them to some believed-good o/e ones, they seem shorter/narrower, ie across the body-width, especially the rear one. And instead of being dead-flat on the floor like the o/e's, the tips and centre of the rear one are...

Re: Stainless wheel-nuts for Minators

That's correct Charles, I switched to them about a year ago. I'd been hanging-on to my old o/e 14" ROStyles for much too long really, hoping either someone would come up with a reliable restoration method, or new ones would become available. By modern standards the tyres were in urgent need of ...

Re: Stainless wheel-nuts for Minators

Apologies for the slow follow-up, the wheels were a bit too dusty when I photographed them last weekend and vanity ruled-out posting, and I've only just got back to it. I use an extending wheel wrench too, with the 21mm socket for these nuts. And a spark plug socket fits them, and the extra depth is...

Re: Stainless wheel-nuts for Minators

The Club was out of the plain nuts with no re-stocking date, so after checking they'd fit Minators I ordered the alternatives with the MG logo.

In real life, it's less conspicuous than in the pictures online. I fitted them this afternoon.

Thanks once more Charles.

Re: Stainless wheel-nuts for Minators

That's what I'd call an informed recommendation Charles - even down to matching the colour of my car, from the looks of it.

Many thanks indeed for your helpful and speedy response.

Stainless wheel-nuts for Minators

Has anyone found stainless steel nuts for Minator wheels? They need to be smaller than the standard RoStyle nuts, to leave room to fit and remove them without scratching the wheels. The garage fitted mild steel nuts, and they're rusting, and look terrible after about a year. The stainless nuts on th...

Re: LED Headlight Bulbs

Nice to be an in-law again, though my LED headlights have passed two MOTs already.

Re: Header rail question

I've bodged a workaround, by the way.

Since rain was running down the short strap fastening the roof to the top of the windscreen frame, I've unfastened the press-stud from the frame, and folded the strap up out of the way, behind the frame.

Re: Header rail question

Thanks Charles.

Sounds as though I've had almost forty three years of consistent above average luck with two MGs and several replacement soft tops, and at last the law of averages has caught up with me!

Any other insights, anyone?

Re: Header rail question

Thanks Charles, that looks very like mine - even down to the colour! - but does yours leak? I can't remember how previous header rails have 'sat', but I've never had a roof let in as much water as this one does, especially not pouring down the side straps so I need to have a towel over my leg. Allan
