Rear gas struts.

Nothing wrong with my Tailgate Stay, I was just wondering if I should fit some gas struts instead. I've just fitted a pair to a loft hatch and I do like the assisted opening. Has anybody any bad experiences with them ?

Only that they don't last forever, and tend to be weaker when the temperatures are low.
My original spring powered ones are very positive and I love them!
