You'll have to keep eating your lunch off it - that's how!
Great looking car

Um, George...eating lunch in or on the car?
The family rules regarding the car are already up on the fridge door. They include:-
No eating of food whilst in it.
No consuming of drinks.
No 'car sweets' permitted.
Definitely no smoking.
Music played on the radio / cassette is restricted to the '70's and 80's, so that means Creedance Clearwater Revival, David Bowie, Pink Floyd, Moody Blues, Suzi Quattro, Jethro Tull etc etc, you get the idea....the final decision as to whether a music cassette is acceptable or not.....rests with....me!

Good rules about eating etc in the car to which I quite agree but there is the old saying "you could eat your dinner of that" applied only to the engine compartment...............
My 65 B still has a period Motorola radio - only gets Radio 4 on Long Wave now.
Several years ago some children of a friend sat in my 65 B - their only question was where do you put the cassette.
The real debate is do you want to drown out the noise of the exhaust and the weber working - I know in my RV8 with cassette and cd they rarely get used the V8 burble is preferred.
Oh and throw some Queen in to that good list of music

A good suggestion regarding Queen as music for the car cassette radio player, but your comment about the preferred sound of the engine...and the sucking sound of the 45DCOE...well, that is not the first time I have heard that comment!
I had some good news from the restoration workshop today...I believe 'The Register' has fixed a time for the car's age inspection....December 13.
It is just possible I might be making the trip from home, in central London, to Bovingdon on that day......at about inspection time......
So fingers crossed, we might just be looking at a pristine, street legal, 1972 MGB joining the ranks.....!

Well.....Good New Year News!
The V5C for my imported 'B' arrived on my doormat this morning...so I am good to order up the plates, and go!
Many thanks to George, of the Register, who did the inspection for the DVLA, and John at the Club for doing the paperwork. All sweet.
One thing which is NOT made very clear in the DVLA application guidance notes, is the fact that without a manufacturer or BMIHT age certificate, it is impossible to get an age related number plate without the applicable car club getting involved....the DVLA will simply reject the application....as they did mine....twice....this is despite my original purchase receipt, all my Australian registration certificates, and the UK Customs paperwork all quoting the year of manufacture as 1972.....that's not acceptable dating evidence....the word HAS to come from the car club.....so, will know for next time....Happy New Year everybody, hope to meet up with many of you at club events.....
