Speedometer calibration

After a question about speedometer calibration, some wit posted this reply on a forum I use:
You can use the government calibration sites. Look for them along the roadside, they are quite often a yellow box on top of a grey pole. When you find one drive past it as fast as you can and note your speedo reading when it flashes twice. Your calibration certificate will arrive through the post a couple of weeks later.
Please be aware that the charge for using them is quite high. But on the plus side they do run a points system, when you collect enough points you get a push bike.
