Desperately seeking KLP 530D

Post by pmcds » Fri Feb 08, 2019 5:09 am

Hi all. Hunting for a (now) red 1966 mgb roadster with the plate KLP 530D. Dad’s 70th coming up and he used to to own this car (sold very reluctantly in 1990). Would love for him to just see the car as a surprise. DVLA shows it’s MOT’d and on the road. Even though I have the VIN I can’t get any further than that. Reaching out in the hope of some help please ... pretty please!

Hi Phil. As the MGB is taxed and MOTd you could call the DVLA and talk nicely to them tell them the story and ask if you post a letter to them addressed to the current owner if they would pass it on, just a phone call and a couple of stamps. Good luck.
Let us know the outcome.
John.

John
Your kind suggestion with the DVLA no longer works I am afraid - all to do with GDPR.
You will also find the address of previous owner is longer added to the V5c.

Also have checked with Andrew the Registar - we do not have details of this MGB on our Register.

The only ideas are to write/phone/email Andy Knott to see if he will put a request in Safety Fast! as it could belong to a member but not on our Register and also to try the MGOC

Phil
Andy is the Editor of MGCC Safety Fast, his email is andy@mgcc.co.uk or tel 01235 849 730.
If you email him quickly with the request he may get it in the March SF.
Good luck
John
