Thoughts on contacting previous owners?

Post by BarryD »

I like a well organised history file for a car, and I’ve had some luck in the past contacting previous owners. When my car was sold in 2006 it boasted a Hodson Engineering rebuild and fast road cam (now just 5k miles ago) with an unleaded head (work completed in 1996). Somewhere between then and now, all receipts of this work have been lost - or they were maybe not included.

What’s the collected minds opinion on me writing to the owner and asking if he still has any paperwork/photos from the time? Good or bad idea? :D

A good idea..it can't do any harm. Include a recent picture of the car to increase their interest

I agree any decent owner would want to help, worst they can do is ignore you.
